How Abide Started

Abide didn’t start with a big plan. It started with a group of teenagers who were hungry for Jesus. Even after the youth ministry they were part of ended, they kept meeting. They gathered in homes, prayed together, worshiped, and stayed hungry for more.

Their faithfulness didn’t go unnoticed. Parents began to reach out. Conversations turned into prayer. Eventually, trusted leaders stepped back in not to run something new, but to make space for what God was already doing.

What began as a handful of teens meeting around a bonfire has grown into a movement of worship and discipleship, with the mission to bring revival across Walton County in their generation and the ones to come.

Our Mission

Everything begins with Jesus. We gather to worship Him, pray together, and open His Word. We want young people to know Him personally and learn to depend on Him every day.
John 15:4-5
We study Scripture together and help young people put it into practice. Through teaching, small groups, and personal discipleship, we walk alongside them as they ask questions, face challenges, and learn to follow Jesus.
Colossians 2:6-7
Following Jesus changes how we live. We encourage young people to obey His Word, love and serve others, and share the gospel. Our desire is to see lasting fruit in their lives that brings glory to the Father.

Our mission is to help the next generation know Jesus, remain in Him, and live by His Word. Rooted in John 15, we help young people grow as His disciples and share the gospel with others.

Our Vision

We want to see young people turn to Jesus for themselves, beyond a Thursday gathering or a leader’s encouragement. Young people who open His Word, bring their struggles to Him in prayer, and choose to obey Him even when no one is watching.
We want to see friendships where young people can be honest, receive correction, and help one another follow Jesus. As they grow older and enter new seasons, our prayer is that they remain rooted in Christ and committed to His people.
We’re praying that what God begins in these young people reaches far beyond them. That their families, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods encounter the love and truth of Jesus through their lives. That those who are being discipled today will help others follow Him in the years ahead.

We want to see young people across Walton County and beyond follow Jesus for the rest of their lives. Our prayer is that their faith takes root in everyday life, shapes their homes and friendships, and leads others to know Him.

What We Believe

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, loving, just, and sovereign.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. He is the only way to the Father and will come again.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, true and trustworthy in all it teaches, and without error in its original writings. It is our final authority for what we believe and how we live.
We seek to understand Scripture faithfully, in its context, and put it into practice. When our understanding is limited, we approach God’s Word with humility, trusting His wisdom above our own.
We believe that all people have sinned and need salvation. We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is His gift and cannot be earned through good works.
We are called to repent of sin and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing in His death and resurrection. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, new life, and the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Following Jesus is a life of growing in holiness, learning obedience, and bearing fruit. These things are the result of His work in us, not the basis of our salvation. It is evidence of our faith.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who belong to Jesus. He calls His people to gather for worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship, to care for one another, and to make disciples.
We believe Jesus Christ will return and that all people will stand before God in judgement. Those who belong to Christ will enjoy eternal life with Him. Those who reject Him face eternal separation from Him in hell.
This hope and seriousness shape how we live and why we share the gospel.

Abide is for teens who want to know Jesus and for those who are still figuring out what they believe. Whether you’ve grown up in church or have never opened a Bible, you’re welcome here.

We open Scripture together, pray for one another, and help each other learn to follow Jesus.
